VT: SportsPort Scanner
Scanner support.
Help for league officials and gate volunteers running a gate with the Scanner app. Questions about an athlete's eligibility or a disputed call go to your league; problems with the app come to us.

admin@vividtokenz.ioWhat to include
- The app's version and build number (from its App Store or Google Play listing; on Android, also Settings → Apps → VTSP Scanner)
- Your phone model
- The league code (VTSP- and six digits) and the division you were running
- What the screen said, word for word, or a photo of the screen
- The time and the venue
Never post an athlete's full code in public channels such as Discord or social media. If we need it to look into a verdict, we'll ask for it by email.
At the gate
What each verdict means.
Before the doors open: check the phone's date and time are set automatically, load your league, pick the division, and scan one known-good SportsPort. It should read ELIGIBLE in about a second.
The contract says this SportsPort meets the division's age band and documents today. Do what the card says under ELIGIBLE: match the league age (or the grade) against the athlete, or ask to see the pass in the holder's own app. A screenshot of a teammate's pass also reads green.
The contract answered, and the athlete does not meet this division's rules. The line under it says which rule. Check you picked the right division (tap Change). Disputes go to the league, not the app.
The app could not get an answer from the chain. This is not a “no”: nothing was learned about the athlete. Scan again once; if it repeats, see the FAQ below.
FAQ
Common questions.
Everyone is coming back CAN'T CHECK. What do I do?+
Read the line under CAN'T CHECK. “Refusing requests” or “having trouble answering” means the chain's service is failing, not your phone: wait a minute and scan again. If it says the service is “behind” or “ahead of this phone's clock”, check the phone's date and time are set automatically, then close and reopen the app. Otherwise check the phone has a connection (open any web page) and switch between wi-fi and mobile data. If the camera can't read a pass, type or paste the long code under the QR (0x and 64 characters) into the box on the scan screen and tap Check this athlete. Still CAN'T CHECK after a few minutes: the app cannot give a verdict without the chain, so fall back to the league's paper procedure, write down who was admitted that way, and email us with the time and venue.
What does SETUP NOT CONFIRMED mean?+
The league's setup could not be read today (or had not been read yet), so the verdict was checked on the division's numbers saved on this phone. The answer is still the contract's, but if the league changed its divisions overnight it may be wrong. Tap Check again on the scan screen; the app also asks again every minute on its own. Treat a disputed call as a dispute.
The screen says THIS LEAGUE'S SETUP HAS CHANGED.+
The league's divisions, age band or documents changed on the chain, and every scan from now on uses the new numbers. The note lists what moved. If a band narrowed, a document was added or a division was removed, re-scan the athletes checked ELIGIBLE before the note (the recent list keeps the last 12 hours) or ask the organiser. Anyone turned away before a change that loosened the rules can be scanned again.
How do I switch to a different league or division?+
Tap Change at the top of the scan screen to go back and pick a different division, or enter a different league code (from your event paperwork) and tap Load this league. The app keeps your league and division between games, so you only do this when the event changes.
The camera isn't working, or I said no to the camera.+
If you denied the camera once, the scan screen shows Allow the camera; tap it. If the camera has been turned off for the app, tap Open settings, turn the camera on for the Scanner, and switch back to the app. In the meantime you can type or paste a pass's code into the box on the scan screen.
There's an amber TEST CHAIN or red DEMONSTRATION bar at the top.+
That phone is not checking real eligibility. Do not run a real gate on it. The store version shows no coloured bar.
The scan says the code isn't a SportsPort.+
The code is something else, such as the code on a card or a sandbox pass. Ask for the SportsPort QR in the VTSP app, not the card.
The app shows THIS SCREEN BROKE.+
The app failed, not the athlete. Tap Back to scanning. If it repeats, force-quit and reopen; your league and division are kept. Then email us: the app sends no crash reports of its own, so a problem nobody reports is a problem nobody sees.
